Journey Home Respite Caregivers Needed!

Journey Home Foster Care, is recruiting professional caregivers to join our
Treatment Foster Care Team as Respite Caregivers to provide relief or temporary care for Traditional and Treatment Foster Care Families, Families who have adopted children from foster care, and primary families who are caring for children with challenging circumstances.

Respite services are intended to provide families (and the children in their care) with a temporary break to promote stability in the home and enhance success of the treatment program. Relief services include providing children and teens with room and board, providing transportation to school and other appointments as indicated on the child’s service plan, and generally ensuring safety and wellbeing.

Respite care usually occurs over weekends; however, the need for respite care may also include weekdays. Episodes of respite care can range from one night up to fourteen consecutive nights. Most episodes will be less than seven consecutive days.

Qualified Respite Caregivers must the minimal state requirements for becoming a respite provider in the State of Ohio. Respite Caregivers can be adult individuals or adult couples with or without children of their own.

Journey Home Foster Care provides initial and ongoing training, conducts necessary assessments, and performs monitoring activities to help Respite Caregivers maintain their status and eligibility to provide respite services.

Respite Caregivers are compensated at a rate between $40.00 and $45.00 per day for each child placed in the home for respite care depending upon the type of respite care that is required.
